RUNNING SOUNDS BORING AND TIRING ESPECIALLY UNDER THE HEAT OF THE SUMMER’S SUN BUT IF YOU RESEARCH INTO MARATHONS A LITTLE FURTHER YOU CAN GET EVEN EXCITED OVER THE IDEA OF RUNNING WITH A COMMUNITY!

Why should you do a marathon this summer? It’s a way to get fit and motivated as well as enjoying yourself. I find running outdoors with a community of people makes you feel happier and clears your mind from worries just what you need for the summer holidays right? Get your thoughts away from assignments and work even just for a little while.
I have recently discovered a fun amazing way to get fit or just have a laugh for a good cause that changes annually by running a particular marathon, The Color Run. Originated in Arizona America, it has splashed the world multi-coloured, with the UK joining in just last year. But what is it? It’s a 5K run, with yourself or with your friends in white clean clothes at the starting line running through powders of colours, and ending with messy splattered colours all over and a big smirk on your face. Not only this but there is a little ‘party’ or festival-esque after party once you’re done with the running. The fun never ends really.
The marathon takes place in six different areas in the UK, and the majority taking place during summer.
Registration is now open so get in there fast before your place is taken!
Not your thing or just missed the registration? Not to worry. Marathons are a sort of ‘all year round’ kind of thing as well as being evenly spread around UK, so you’ll never miss a chance to go out there and sweat.
You can check online or asking your local gym if they got a list of upcoming marathon dates. Although, most won’t be all themed like the Color Run, taking a few friends with you would make just about any kind of exercise more at ease and enjoyable!
I suggest going onto this website for the upcoming runs for 2014, http://www.marathonrunnersdiary.com/races/uk-marathon-list.php it has an organised calendar of dates and locations as well as prices and backstories, all you need to know and prepare.
So get those trainers on and start running wild!
